Wood Green Police Station No Further ActionThreats to Kill & Non-Fatal Strangulation

Miss Lauren Halloran, one of our experienced Paralegals and accredited Police Station representatives, attended Wood Green Police Station on 9th November 2024 whilst on duty. The reason for Miss Halloran’s attendance was due to our client’s arrest for non-fatal strangulation contrary to section 75A(1)(a) of the Serious Crime Act 20, and threats to kill contrary to section 16 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, an offence which carries a potential sentence of 10 years imprisonment.

It was alleged that our client had caught her, now, ex-partner going through her phone without her permission, a discovery that ensued into an argument between the couple.  During said argument, it was the prosecution’s case that our client had grabbed her ex-partner by the throat and shouted, “I AM GOING TO KILL YOU”.

Due to the lack of prosecution evidence, it was Miss Halloran’s advice at Wood Green Police Station, that the client give a no comment interview, putting the allegations and the Police to proof. The client followed this advice and was consequentially released from the Police Station after the Police had dropped the charges and confirmed that they would be taking no further action against her regarding the incident in question.
