R V EW & SC LARGE DRUGS CASE DISMISSED Harrow Crown Court - 2019 - Possession with intent to supply class A - case dismissed

James O’Donnell  Specialist solicitor represented husband and wife charged with possession with intent to supply 9 kilos of class A drugs.

The case involved a large scale systematic and robust raid on a NW London travellers site where at a caravan linked to both Defendant’s 9 Kilos of high purity MDMA and cash was found. The drugs found had an estimated street value of £500,000. Despite the large quantity of drugs. The prosecution objected to bail and although our clients were in custody from the police station to court a strong application for bail was made at the first appearance which was granted. Both Defendant’s had their liberty throughout the case. If convicted both Defendant’s would have faced a custodial sentence in excess of 10 years, however were kept calm and at ease throughout the long stressful trial process. Both Defendants were regularly updated and advised in relation to the ongoing service of evidence. After careful consideration of the evidence served detailed applications to dismiss were made by both instructed Counsel, Mimma Sabato and Malik Aldeiri. Her Honour Judge Wood dismissed the charges and returned a not guilty verdict for both. Excellent teamwork from our lawyers ensured the right outcome for our clients.
