Not Guilty Common Assault - Colchester Magistrates Court 2022

Our client was charged with common assault by beating during the early pandemic. She was walking into a store when the complainant walked into her. Our client was taking her elderly mother shopping and she was protecting her from close contact with other shoppers. Our client put her hand up to stop the complainant from bumping into her mother.  Our case was that our clients contact with the complainant was accidental. The complainant alleged a strong blow and ongoing hearing damage. We arranged enhanced CCTV and prepared the case thoroughly. Our client was found not guilty.
