Acton Police Station - S.18 GBH charge to NFA
A client, who is known to the firm by way of previous instructions, contacted Mr James O’Donnell, one of our highly experienced Partners here at JD Spicer Zeb Solicitors, stating that the Police had contacted him regarding a stabbing and wanted him to come in for an interview.
Mr O’Donnell attended Acton Police Station with the client on the 22nd October 2024 and advised the client to give a no comment interview and wait to see what exactly the CCTV footage showed. Our client was charged for Grievous Bodily harm with intent contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, a charge which carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment upon conviction.
Our client was bailed to return to Acton Police Station on the 14th January 2025 with the condition that they have no contact with any prosecution witnesses.
However, on the 31st October 2024 the Police contacted Mr James O’Donnell confirming that their case against the client had been marked for ‘No Further Action’ and that they had closed the client’s custody record and cancelled his bail, no longer requiring them to return to the Police Station.
