ABH assault discontinued Wood Green Crown Court 2023

The client’s ABH and criminal damage charges were discontinued

Our client was accused of inflicting ABH against her partner and causing criminal damage to his valuable paintings. During a disagreement, the partner claimed he was pushed down the stairs and fell into the paintings in the process. Our client claimed she damaged the paintings when her partner prevented her from leaving the property and a physical altercation occurred.

Our client was a foreign national who had come to visit her partner in the UK and was desperate to return home. Having been arrested, we were able to get the client released on bail. Following this, we made representations to get the case discontinued before the Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing so that she could fly home. We pursued the CPS to the point that we were able to persuade them to discontinue the case.
