Not Guilty Threatening Behavior S4 Public Order Act Chesterfield Magistrates Court 2024

Our client was charged with a Section 4 Public Order offence after he was alleged to have threatened to kill and ‘knock out’ the complainant who was a former employee of our client. Our client denied making any threats or being aggressive in any way.

Our client instructed us on a private basis to prepare his case for summary trial in the Magistrates court. We prepared his case and served exhibits to demonstrate the longstanding and fraught relationship the defendant had with the complainant which undermined his allegation and showed the ulterior motives of the complainant. Through cross -examination we weakened the complainant's credibility and the Magistrates court returned a not guilty verdict.
