R v JB - RAPE - NOT GUILTY 2018

Senior lawyer Malik Aldeiri represented a man accused of a historical rape on his ex-wife. The defendant had been on police bail for nearly 2 years before he was charged. The defendant was distraught by the allegation but the hard work and empathy shown by Malik put the client at ease, both pre-charge and post charge. Malik undertook extensive work, sifting through volumes of both prosecution and defence evidence, diligently preparing the case to undermine the prosecution evidence. He considered and prepared complex legal arguments. Malik was able to trace a material witness abroad and arranged for his evidence to be heard by video link. The client was acquitted unanimously by a jury. The hard work and dedication ensured that the client retained his liberty and cleared his name.
