Not Guilty Assault Police - Harrow Crown Court 2021
We represented a young client who was accused of committing an assault on an emergency worker and racially aggravated intentional harassment. We gave careful advice about whether his trial should be at the Magistrates’ Court or the Crown Court.
The prosecution alleged that our client had repeatedly kicked, hit and scratched a police officer and shouted racial abuse at them during police action near an unlicensed music event. All of the witnesses were police officers.
We obtained photographs of our client’s injuries caused by the police and relied on videos taken from members of the public to challenge the police officer’s accounts of his arrest.
Our client was represented at trial at Harrow Crown Court by Samantha Ball (a barrister at 3 Temple Gardens, https://www.3tg.co.uk/people/samantha_ball/). The jury found him not guilty of all charges.
